Ajit Agarkar continues to serve as the chairperson of the Men’s Indian Cricket Team selection committee. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, September 28, in Mumbai, where several important decisions and new appointments were finalized. Among the most notable developments was the inclusion of former Indian cricketers RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha in the senior men’s selection committee.
Indian: Speculation about their appointment had been circulating for a while, but no official confirmation was given until now. With BCCI’s announcement, it is confirmed that Ojha and Singh will join the Ajit Agarkar-led panel, replacing S. Sharath and Subroto Banerjee.
Their induction is seen as a positive move for Indian cricket, given their significant contributions as players. Both also share past playing experience with Agarkar, which is expected to bring strong cohesion to the committee. Ojha, a former left-arm spinner, represented India in 24 Tests, 18 ODIs, and six T20Is. Singh, a left-arm fast bowler, featured in 14 Tests, 58 ODIs, and 10 T20Is.

The Men’s Indian Cricket Team selection committee currently consists of five members:
- Ajit Agarkar (Chairperson)
- Shiv Sundar Das
- Ajay Ratra
- R. P. Singh
- Pragyan Ojha
Ajit Agarkar, who was appointed as chairman in July 2023, has recently received an extension.
In the Women’s Selection Committee, Amita Sharma has been appointed as chairperson, with Sulakshana Naik, Jaya Sharma, Sravanthi Naidu, and Shyama Dey as the other members.
At the BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM), several new office-bearers were elected:
Mithun Manhas, former Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir cricketer, became the 37th President of BCCI, replacing Roger Binny.
- Rajeev Shukla was retained as Vice-President.
- Devajit Saikia continues as Secretary.
- Prabhtej Bhatia was appointed Joint Secretary.
- Raghuram Bhat was named Treasurer.
- Jaydev Shah was nominated to the BCCI Apex Council.
Arun Singh Dhumal and Khairul Jamal Majumdar were chosen as IPL Governing Council representatives.
