India will open their Asia Cup 2025 campaign against the UAE. Set to defend their title, the Indian cricket team will arrive in Dubai on September 4, ahead of the tournament’s start on September 9. The squad, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will begin practice sessions from September 5.
India has been drawn into Group A alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. Group B features Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong.
The 2025 Asia Cup will be played across two venues in the UAE — Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The final is scheduled for September 28 in Dubai.

“All players are expected to reach Dubai by the evening of September 4, with the first net session scheduled for September 5 at the ICC Academy. Considering logistical convenience, players will fly to Dubai from their home cities,” the official said.
He added, “While some will travel from Mumbai, asking others to first come to Mumbai before flying to Dubai doesn’t make sense. Dubai is a short flight compared to other international journeys.”
The Suryakumar Yadav-led side will open their Asia Cup 2025 campaign against the UAE on September 10 in Dubai. They will then face arch-rivals Pakistan on September 14 at the same venue, followed by their final group match against Oman on September 19.
Shubman Gill has returned to the T20I squad and has been appointed vice-captain for the tournament. Some squad members are currently participating in the Duleep Trophy 2025-26 but will only play in the opening round before heading to Dubai for the Asia Cup.
