Sunrisers Hyderabad End IPL 2025 on a High Note with Record-Breaking Batting Display

Sunrisers Hyderabad came full circle in IPL 2025 on Sunday, rediscovering the aggressive batting that eluded them throughout much of the season. After 13 matches across 62 days, Travis Head’s explosive fifty and Heinrich Klaasen’s blazing 37-ball century powered the 2016 champions to a record IPL total against Kolkata Knight Riders.
SRH began the season spectacularly, posting 286 against Rajasthan Royals in their opener — the second-highest team total in IPL history, just shy of their own record 287 set last year. The final game showcased a similar dominant approach as they posted yet another massive total.
Head, recovering recently from Covid-19, saved his best for the last match, smashing an 18-ball fifty to give SRH a fiery start. Alongside Abhishek Sharma’s quick 32 off 16 balls, the openers put on a 92-run powerplay partnership.
Heinrich Klaasen kept the momentum going with nine sixes and seven boundaries, scoring his second IPL century. His 37-ball ton set a new SRH record and was the joint-third fastest IPL century ever, second only to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 35-ball century this season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad smash IPL record

This score is the third-highest team total in IPL history, with SRH now holding four of the top spots. It also marks the highest total ever posted against Kolkata Knight Riders, surpassing Punjab’s previous best of 262 at Eden Gardens in 2024. Additionally, this is the highest IPL team total recorded at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, bettering SRH’s own 266 against Delhi Capitals last year.
