India stormed into the Asia Cup 2025 final with a commanding 41-run victory over Bangladesh. With this win, the Men in Blue became the first team to secure a spot in the summit clash, defeating Bangladesh in their second Super Four encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Put in to bat first, India got off to a flying start through Abhishek Sharma (79) and Shubman Gill (29). The in-form pair stitched together a crucial 77-run opening stand, providing a solid foundation for the innings.
But the momentum was short-lived as India’s middle order faltered, collapsing to 129 for five. Just when Bangladesh sensed an opening, Hardik Pandya steadied the ship with a vital 38-run knock, guiding India to a competitive total of 168.
With the ball, India struck early as Jasprit Bumrah found his rhythm and dismissed Tanzid Hasan Tamim in the opening stages. Although Bangladesh looked in control for a while, thanks to Saif Hassan’s gritty 69 and Parvez Hossain Emon’s 21, the partnership of 41 runs for the second wicket couldn’t rescue them from the mounting pressure.
India’s spinners—Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and especially Kuldeep Yadav—dominated the middle overs, tightening the grip on Bangladesh’s chase. Saif’s well-made fifty offered some resistance, but Bumrah eventually got the better of him. The rest of the batting line-up crumbled, and Bangladesh were bundled out for 127, handing India a commanding victory.
