Royal Challengers Bengaluru Set to Defend Their WPL Title in 2025
The third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will kick off on February 14, 2025, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) entering the tournament as defending champions. The first two seasons of the competition have been a resounding success, providing young Indian cricketers with invaluable experience by facing off against top international talent.
WPL 2025 will feature five teams: Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, UP Warriorz, and Gujarat Giants.
RCB had a historic run in the previous season, clinching their first-ever WPL title. They finished third in the league stage with four wins from eight matches. After defeating Mumbai Indians in the eliminator, RCB went on to beat Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in the final to secure the crown.
Ellyse Perry, the Australian star, was the team’s top run-scorer, amassing 347 runs in nine matches. Meanwhile, Shreyanka Patil led the bowling attack, taking 13 wickets at an economy rate of 7.3.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru Venues for WPL 2025
RCB will compete across four venues in WPL 2025: Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai. They will begin with two league matches in Vadodara, followed by four games in Bengaluru. The team will play one match each in Lucknow and Mumbai.
