Manjrekar said if Bumrah wants to play Test cricket for a long time, then he will have to work on his fitness
The India vs England series has ended in a draw, after which there is a lot of discussion about Jasprit Bumrah. On this subject, former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar gave suggestions on Bumrah’s workload management.

Bumrah played only 3 matches in the 5-match Test series and in the last match, which was a decisive match, the fans were very upset after not seeing Bumrah there. After which, there is talk about Bumrah’s workload everywhere that till when will Bumrah be kept out of Tests.
India won two Test matches without Bumrah
India had won only 2 matches in this series and Bumrah did not play in both those matches, on which Manjrekar said… “No matter how hard we try, the game will always show us the mirror. It was poetic justice that the two Tests that India won were the two matches that Bumrah did not play.” In a column for Hindustan Times, Manjrekar wrote, “This will give the Indian selectors the courage to take tough decisions in the selection of big name players.
This series has been a big lesson for them and for us too. The two Tests that India won did not include Virat (Kohli), (Cheteshwar) Pujara, Rohit (Sharma), (Mohammed) Shami and Bumrah! It reminded us of the eternal truth of sports and life that no one, no matter how great, is indispensable. And India should deal with Bumrah in the same way.”
Manjrekar said that now the time has come that Bumrah will have to increase his fitness if he wants to play Test cricket for a long time. Not Indian cricket but Jasprit Bumrah will have to change himself according to Indian cricket.
For which he will have to take some tough decisions related to his fitness, because any player can increase his fitness as much as he wants. Even before Bumrah, there have been many bowlers who have done this feat.
