The BCCI determines salaries for Indian cricketers, both men and women, based on performance, which is reflected in their points within the BCCI’s grading system. So far, the BCCI has announced four grading categories for men’s cricketers and three for women’s cricketers.
Men’s Cricketer’s Salary
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the annual player contracts for Team India (Senior Men) for the 2023-24 season, covering the period from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
For a Test match, an Indian player receives a fixed match fee of ₹15 lakh. For an ODI, the fee is ₹6 lakh, while for each T20I, a player earns ₹3 lakh. Players not included in the playing XI will receive 50% of the match fee.
Qualification for BCCI’s annual central contacts:
A+ category – All three formats player
A category – All three formats, at least 2 formats, Test cricket necessary
In addition to their salaries, Indian cricketers receive performance bonuses for their achievements across all three formats of the game. This reward money is separate from their match fees and includes:
₹500,000 for scoring a century in a Test or ODI
₹700,000 for a double century in a Test match
₹500,000 for taking a five-wicket haul in Test, ODI, or T20 matches
₹700,000 for achieving a ten-wicket haul in Test matches
