A case of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation was registered after the wife of an IPS officer lodged a complaint against a senior Income Tax official and another individual for allegedly harassing her children during the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The incident occurred on May 3 during the match, and a complaint was filed at Cubbon Park Police Station.
According to the complainant, around 9:40 pm on May 3, a scuffle broke out between two parties at the Diamond Box, a premium seating area. She claimed that the two individuals abused her 22-year-old son and inappropriately touched her 26-year-old daughter. The complainant also alleged that the suspects threatened, shouted at, and behaved indecently with her children. The entire incident was reportedly recorded by her son on his mobile phone.
Heated Confrontation at Stadium Leads to Formal Complaint
The altercation began when the IPS officer’s daughter briefly left her seat to use the restroom, leaving her purse to indicate it was occupied. Upon her return, she found a man in her seat. When her brother requested the man to move, explaining that his sister was returning, the man refused, escalating into an argument. The situation worsened as the sister joined her brother, and the man was supported by his wife, an income tax official, and their son. The verbal exchange became heated, with both sides reportedly using abusive language.
