Batting at No. 5, Andre Russell fired a blistering half-century against RR, hitting four boundaries and six sixes to finish with an unbeaten 57 off just 25 balls. He thrilled the crowd at Eden Gardens by sending the RR bowlers to all parts of the ground.
Earlier, KKR won the toss and chose to bat first. Openers Sunil Narine (11) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (35) couldn’t provide a fast start. However, Andre Russell explosive finish helped the team reach a total of 206/4 in 20 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi also contributed with a vital 44 runs.

Andre Russell reached a significant milestone for KKR with a brilliant fifty during the KKR vs RR match, becoming the second player in the franchise’s history to accumulate more than 2500 runs in the IPL. He now stands at 2555 runs from 109 innings, with an impressive top score of an unbeaten 88.
The only other player to achieve this feat is former KKR captain Gautam Gambhir, who scored 3035 runs for the franchise between 2011 and 2017.
Andre Russell half-century in the ongoing IPL 2025 is his first of the season. While he had struggled to produce big knocks earlier, he hit the mark in this game. So far, he has scored 129 runs across eight innings, maintaining a strike rate of 161.25. In addition, he has taken eight wickets for KKR, with his best bowling performance being 2/21.
