ENG vs IND: England penalized 2 ICC WTC points and fined 10% of match fee for slow over rate in Lord’s Test

England have slipped from second to third place in the ICC WTC 2025-27 rankings. The England Cricket Team secured a 22-run victory over India in the third Test of the five-match series at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. However, they were penalized for a slow over rate, with players fined 10% of their match fees.

Led by captain Ben Stokes, England were docked two points in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 standings after falling short by two overs in the Lord’s Test. Stokes accepted the sanction imposed by Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

Interestingly, India has yet to secure a Test victory against England in Manchester. In nine matches played there, England have won four, with five ending in draws. England currently lead the five-match series 2-1.
