The incident occurred in the 15th over of Oman’s chase when Axar, attempting to grab Hammad Mirza’s catch, lost his balance and hit his head hard on the ground. He appeared in visible discomfort, was forced to leave the field immediately, and did not return for the rest of the innings. Before his injury, Axar had bowled just one over, giving away four runs.
Asia Cup: Earlier in the first innings, the all-rounder made a quickfire 26 off 13 deliveries, smashing one six and three fours to push India’s total to a commanding 188/8. His efforts came after strong contributions from Abhishek Sharma (38) and Sanju Samson (56), who set up a solid platform at the top.
