Ravindra Jadeja Reaches Career-Best Test Ranking After Century Against West Indies. India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja produced a stellar performance in the opening Test of the ICC World Test Championship series against the West Indies in Ahmedabad, scoring a brilliant 104 not out. His effort has propelled him to a career-best 25th position in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings, with a personal high of 644 rating points.
Previously ranked 29th in July this year, the 36-year-old’s latest knock marked a significant rise in his batting credentials. Ravindra Jadeja also excelled with the ball, claiming four wickets in the second innings, further extending his dominance at the top of the all-rounders’ rankings — now leading Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan by a commanding 125 points.
Mohammed Siraj continued his fine form from the England tour, registering figures of 4/40 and 3/31. His impressive showing lifted him three places to a career-best 12th in the Test Bowling Rankings, crossing the 700-point milestone for the first time. India secured a massive victory by an innings and 140 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja: Among other Indian players, K.L. Rahul and Dhruv Jurel also made notable gains after scoring centuries. Rahul moved up four places to 35th, while Jurel climbed 20 spots to 65th following his maiden Test hundred. Kuldeep Yadav advanced seven places to 21st after taking two economical wickets in the match.
In contrast, the West Indies had little to celebrate, with no batter crossing the fifty-run mark and no bowler claiming more than two wickets.
Meanwhile, in the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh re-entered the top 10 in batting for the first time since February 2024 after scores of 85 and 103 not out against New Zealand. Kiwi batter Tim Robinson also made headlines, jumping 58 places to joint-22nd following his unbeaten 106 in Mount Maunganui.
Ravindra Jadeja: Rashid Khan Climbs to No. 2 in ICC T20I Bowling Rankings
Afghanistan’s leg-spinning all-rounder Rashid Khan has reached the number two spot in the ICC T20I bowling rankings, his highest position since June last year. His impressive figures of 4/18 and 2/29 in the first two matches of the series against Bangladesh helped him achieve this milestone.
Bangladesh secured a 3-0 series victory in the United Arab Emirates, with Saif Hassan’s unbeaten 64 in the final match propelling him into the top 20 batters for the first time. Tanzid Hasan also climbed from 43rd to 37th, while Parvez Hossain moved from 71st to 53rd in the batting rankings.
Ravindra Jadeja: Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad (up eight places to 17th) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (up six places to 23rd) also made gains in the bowling rankings. Bangladesh players Tanzim Hasan Sakib (up nine places to 33rd), Shoriful Islam (up 21 places to joint-49th), and Player of the Series Nasum Ahmed (jumping from 131st to 44th) all advanced significantly as well.
