KL Rahul Scores First Home Test Century in Nine Years
KL Rahul has finally broken his long home-century drought, hitting only his second Test hundred on Indian soil. Known for stepping up in challenging overseas conditions, Rahul had struggled to replicate similar dominance at home. His century against the West Indies comes after a staggering nine-year gap, making it a remarkable achievement.
KL Rahul previous home hundred came in 2016 against England in Chennai, where he crafted a brilliant 199 off 311 balls, featuring 16 boundaries and three sixes. That memorable match also saw Karun Nair scoring a triple century.
In the current match, KL Rahul reached his hundred in 197 balls during India’s first innings, hitting 12 boundaries along the way. He will now be eager to build on this performance and add more centuries on home soil.
