The tournament has seen some of the best batsmen in the world, including Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Chris Gayle, and Brendon McCullum, delivering unforgettable performances and thrilling fans with explosive T20 innings.
10. Luke Wright – 2 centuries
Former England all-rounder Luke Wright made a notable impact in the BBL with Melbourne Stars from 2011 to 2018, amassing 1,479 runs. He scored both of his centuries in away games: against Hobart Hurricanes in 2012 and Melbourne Renegades in 2016.
9. Craig Simmons – 2 centuries
A BBL pioneer, Craig Simmons played for Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers, scoring both of his centuries in the 2013/14 season. His first came at W.A.C.A. against Adelaide Strikers, while the second was in Sydney against the Sixers. Simmons ended his career with 501 runs from 20 matches.
8. Matthew Short – 2 centuries
Victorian all-rounder Matthew Short has established himself as a BBL giant, playing for Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades. His two centuries came in recent seasons: 2023 against Hobart Hurricanes and 2024 against Brisbane Heat. He is currently the Strikers’ captain.
7. D’Arcy Short – 2 centuries
Once considered a potential successor to David Warner, D’Arcy Short impressed with two BBL centuries, both while playing for Hobart Hurricanes. His first came in 2018 against Brisbane Heat, followed by another against Perth Scorchers in 2020.
6. Glenn Maxwell – 2 centuries
Glenn Maxwell, one of the greatest T20 players of all-time, has been a stalwart of Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades. He scored his first BBL century in 2021 (103 runs) against Sydney Sixers and followed it up with a stunning 154 in 2022 against Hobart Hurricanes.
5. Usman Khawaja – 2 centuries
Usman Khawaja, known for his test cricket prowess, has also made a mark in the BBL with two centuries while representing Sydney Thunder. His first came in 2015 against Melbourne Stars, and his second (104*) was in 2016 against Adelaide Strikers.
4. Aaron Finch – 2 centuries
Aaron Finch, a top white-ball opener, has been a key figure for Melbourne Renegades. He scored his first century in 2012 against Melbourne Stars, and his second came in 2020 with a knock of 109 runs against Sydney Sixers.
3. Alex Carey – 2 centuries
Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey has two BBL centuries, having made his mark at the top-order for Adelaide Strikers. His first century came in 2018 against Hobart Hurricanes, followed by a career-best 101 runs against Brisbane Heat in 2021.
2. Steve Smith – 3 centuries
Steve Smith, once a middle-order batter and now an opening force for Sydney Sixers, has scored three BBL centuries. His first two came in 2023 against Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder, while he hit an unbeaten 121 in 2025 against Perth Scorchers.
1. Ben McDermott – 3 centuries
Ben McDermott, son of Australian fast bowler Craig McDermott, is one of the most consistent performers in BBL history. He has scored three centuries for three different teams—Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, and Melbourne Renegades—his most notable being in the 2021/22 season against Adelaide Strikers and Renegades.
